After a devastating run with injuries, Gemma Potter is finally healthy and ready to return to the NBL1 for 2024.
With two ACL injury rehabilitations under her belt, Potter has been an inspiration with her determination to recover and return to the court each time. Returning to the WNBL this season, she’s played in seven games and averaged 6.3 points for the UC Capitals.
She now returns to the NBL1 with the Diamond Valley Eagles as their first major signing of the 2024 season.

After averaging 18.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, three assists and 1.5 steals for the Preliminary Finalists, she joins the retooling Finals contender.
Upon signing, Toeaina said she could not wait to join the Wolves for 2024.
“Thank you to Joondalup & Coach Jesse for the opportunity to further my career in the NBL1,” she told the Wolves.
“Being a powerhouse within the league I look forward to competing each game at a high level. The support from the Wolfpack is unlike any other and I can’t wait to better my game with a group of girls that are hungry to win. I’m returning with a different coloured jersey but with the same mentality to dominate.”

The Goldfields Giants have signed American guard Randy Bell for the 2024 season.
The 6’3” (193cm) guard will head to Western Australia for next season after two years in the Indonesia Basketball League – averaging 20.4 points and 6.7 rebounds.
He played four years at division II school Dalton State College, where he won 2019-2020 NAIA conference title and was named first-team All-American conference player of the year.
He told the Giants he cannot wait to play in Australia.
“I'm open to a lot of things in the basketball world,” he said.
“I love to travel, I love playing in different countries and learning different cultures, so NBL1 was definitely on my list.”
