The Castec Rural Pioneers have re-signed their former 3 x time Championship player and former Club Captain, 32-year-old Tom Daly, which is a wonderful boost for the Club as it finalises strong squads for the 2024 NBL1 South Season.
Daly was a highly successful Pioneer for nine seasons, including five seasons as an inspirational captain and being regularly recognised as the team's best player on the court. Daly also played 55 matches for the Adelaide 36ers earlier in his career.
He is returning to the court after not playing in the 2023 NBL1 season.
The Castec Rural Pioneers Head Coach Richard Hill acknowledged that Daly has been an integral part of the Pioneers' previous successes and remains perfectly placed to help the Club to further triumphs.
"It's tremendous news for the Club that our former captain and three-time SEABL champion is returning to the team.
Tom will bring his familiar skillset, toughness and leadership and is working extremely hard to get back to his brilliant best," Hill said.
The Castec Rural Pioneers and OneFortyOne Pioneers are scheduled to play their first game in the 2024 NBL1 South season against Sandringham Sabres on 06 April 2024. Their first home game at Wulanda will be against Frankston Blues on Saturday, 13 April.
