Trio of young guns join Cougars

The Cockburn Cougars will welcome a trio of young guns for the 2022 NBL1 West season, with Keegan Phillips, Alex Kovatchev and Ella Summers putting pen to paper.

The Cockburn Cougars will welcome a trio of young guns for the 2022 NBL1 West season, with Keegan Phillips, Alex Kovatchev and Ella Summers putting pen to paper. 

Phillips was part of Perry Lakes' 2021 championship-winning roster and played three times during the season. 

Kovatchev also spent time with Perry Lakes this year, but with their U18 WABL side. 

He was also a member of the Gold Medal-winning U18 WA Men's Metro team. 

Summers played at WABL Championship level this year for Joondalup and averaged 11.75 points per game. 

Phillips and Kovatchev join Gavin Field on the men's roster while Summers will complement fellow young guns Jewel Williams and Zaya Black on the women's roster.
