While there have been some major signings this offseason, it’s time to look at some under-the-radar signings that are set to make a major impact in 2025 heading into 2025.
Central Coast Crusaders: Lino Manhom
Seven-footer Lino Manhom will make the move to the NBL1 East for 2025. Averaging 4.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks for a finals team, he will now take athleticism and length to a retooling Crusaders.
During his season with the Central Districts Lions, Manhom showed impressive athleticism for a big man, especially from the dunker's spot and as a rim protector.
With the additions of Sydney Kings’ Klairus Amir, former Comet Ilisia Washington and Waratah All-Star Five member Garric Young, Manhom will be a perfect fit to set impenetrable screens and finish plays around the basket.
Central Districts Lions: Jack Stanwix
After a fantastic season with the Norwood Flames, Jack Stanwix will join the Central Districts Lions for 2025.
Averaging 14.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and three assists for the Norwood Flames last season, the 2022 NBL1 South champion will be a go-to scorer for the Lions. With a season-high of 26 points, Stanwix is capable of going off in any game and will be critical to their success in 2025.
Cockburn Cougars: Chan Nai
At only 23 years old, forward Chan Nai will make the move out West and play for the Cockburn Cougars in 2025. Last season, Nai averaged 11.5 points, six rebounds and almost a block a game for the Central Coast Crusaders.
Joining a retooling Cougars, the hyper-athletic forward will shape out a young core led by coach Mark Clayden.
Melbourne Tigers: Ellis Biggar
After an impressive showing in the exhibition clash against the Indonesian Pelita Jaya, the Melbourne Tigers have locked in big man Ellis Biggar for 2025.
Playing for the Nunawading Spectres last season, the 22-year-old centre will take on a larger role with the historic club – scoring seven points with four rebounds in his debut against the touring team.
Having been a training player for the South East Melbourne Phoenix, Biggar is set for a larger role with the Tigers under the guidance of head coach Andrew Gaze.
“He is an emerging talent who we hope to help him on his journey to the NBL,” Gaze said.
“Ellis can play multiple positions, but we expect him to provide a huge presence around the basket at both ends of the floor.”
