The 26-year-old Las Vegas native started his professional basketball career in 2016 after a standout NCAA career at the University of Southern California where he earnt All-Pac-12 honours in his junior year.
Jacobs also led the conference in assists (5.5 per game) while averaging 11.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
He spent a few months as a professional with the Indiana Pacers NBA Summer League team, before signing preseason training contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in September 2016.
After being release by the Lakers, Jacobs joined their NBA G-League affiliate the Los Angeles Defenders for the 2017 season.
Jacobs scored a season high 25 points vs the Austin Spurs in mid-February 2017
Jacobs was released by the Defenders at the end of season and then drafted by the Clippers in the Expansion NBA Development League Draft.
The 6'4 (193 cm) guard was then acquired by the NBA G-League Team the Delaware 87ers through a trade with the Clippers and played 18 games for the franchise during 2018.
Jacobs has also had brief stints in Luxembourg and Tunisia until now landing in Adelaide with the Warriors.
President Cory Higgins welcomed Jacobs to the Warriors: “We are thrilled to have someone of Julian’s talent and pedigree join the club and look forward to him combining with Riley Meldrum in our backcourt, I can’t wait to see Julian play live and start working with our junior Warriors.”
Jacobs is looking forward to joining his new teammates and taking on the challenge ahead.
“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to play again and I cannot thank everyone involved enough, specifically Scott for the persistence he and everyone else has shown to help make this come to fruition,” Jacobs said.
“It is an experience I won’t take for granted and I am filled with anticipation thinking about becoming a member of not only the Woodville Warriors but the surrounding community.”
Coach Scott Whitmore said: "I’m sure everyone is thinking how we get someone like this to St Clair, relationship and timing is the answer.
“The short version is Julian bumped into a former Woodville import and teammate of mine Ken Boldt back in late October last year, Julian thought basketball had passed him by, Ken thought otherwise and gave me a call. After months of discussions and planning we pulled it off.”
