The Woodville Warriors have announced the signing of guard Serena Waters to a two-season deal.
Waters has just completed a successful campaign in the US, where she played at South Plains College.
After much thought and discussion, Waters has made the decision to stay home and continue her studies in South Australia.
Waters will also be lending her magnetic personality to the club as a club ambassador.
She will perform a myriad of duties to help promote the sport of basketball and the WDBC.
Waters said she chose to play for Woodville because of its growing program.
"Prior to college, I was exposed to Coach La Mott’s coaching style and I am really looking forward to the season because of that," she said.
"I believe that Woodville is building an inclusive culture and I can’t wait to contribute to this, as I have a younger brother that plays for Woodville as well, and I would love for him to experience this culture and environment.
"I have always been impressed by the WDBC's commitment to supporting cultural awareness through participating in NAIDOC week and the Indigenous Basketball Academy.
"I have felt supported not only as a player but as an Indigenous woman."
