The Joondalup Wolves have announced the re-signing of 6’4 Guard and Wolfpack favourite Jordan Wellsteed for the 2022 season.

Wellsteed is part of the fabric at the Wolves having worn green for most of his life.

He had a breakout year in 2021 that saw him take on more responsibility and grow into his role perfectly.

Wolves head coach David Morrell was excited to see Wellsteed recommit for 2022.

"Jordan Wellsteed is a guy we knew we had to re-sign and are really pleased to have back," Morrell said.

"He is a foundational type of player because he does all the little winning and toughness things.

"He is a Wolves junior, and he is the type of high character guy that great teams are made of.

"He’s versatile, a really good defender, ball mover, high IQ, unselfish player that makes his teammates’ jobs easier.

"He’s the type of guy that you sub into the game and everything goes better for you as a team on both ends of the floor without him having to put up crazy numbers.

"We are really excited to see what Jordan can do this year, and we think it could be a breakout year for him.”

Wellsteed had this to say about his return in 2022: "I’m grateful and excited to be back with the Wolves in 2022.

"It’s almost a no-brainer every year for me to re-sign here as it is home to me.

"Although we didn’t have the year we all wanted last year, it was a great learning experience for myself and the group as a whole.

"Watching the playoffs last year from home was motivating because I know with the same core group and the additions we have made we can get there.

"I look forward to getting back on court as a group and getting to work."
