Not sure who to watch? We’ve broken down some of the key stars to watch on Friday and Sunday this weekend.

Eastern Suns: Joe Cook-Green

The all-time leading points scorer in a single game will be a key player to watch coming into this series.

Cook-Green was named to the NBL1 West First Team and scored a record 54 points against the Cockburn Cougars in the final round of the regular season.

Still hunting for an NBL opportunity, the 26-year-old sharpshooter will be trying to impress John Rillie’s staff by putting up an efficient shooting clip against the Wildcats across the weekend.

Rockingham Flames: Marshall Nelson

The former Cairns Taipan has been an electric player to watch in the NBL1 West for multiple seasons. One of his most impressive performances came recently in the NBL1 National Finals against the Ipswch Force, where he scored 28 points with 11 rebounds and six assists.

For the season he averaged 15.7 points, 6.1 assists and 4.2 rebounds for the defending champions. Nelson can shoot, finish around the basket and make dazzling passes – he’s the complete package when it comes to a superstar to watch.

Geraldton Buccaneers: Johny Narkle

The NBL1 West Finals MVP has been a deadly option for the championship Buccaneers through the 2023 season.

Averaging 12 points per game, the 22-year-old has a bright future ahead of him. He showed glimpses of stardom in the Grand Final, where he scored 21 points with 11 rebounds to clutch a win over the Joondalup Wolves.

He carried that momentum into the NBL1 National Finals, where he scored 27 points against the Sutherland Sharks and finished the tournament with 30 points against the Ipswich Force – eventually being named to the All-Star Five.

Rockingham Flames: Jeremy Combs

Star import Jeremy Combs was a sensation on both ends for the defending champions this season.

Averaging 17.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals, the tough forward will be a physical test for the Wildcats.

Combs is everything you want in a forward, he’s able to stretch the floor, play defence, jump out of the gym and box out anyone on the court. He will be one of the go-to guys for Ryan Petrik in this series.
