The Eltham Wildcats are excited to announce the signing of two-time NBL Champion Angus Glover for the 2023 NBL1 South season.

Glover averaged 11 ppg on 53% shooting from the field for the Sydney Kings in the Grand Final series against the New Zealand Breakers, while his heroics in game 5 helped the Kings secure back-to-back NBL Championships.

The 24-year-old athletic guard has played 5 seasons in the NBL for the Illawarra Hawks and Sydney Kings. Eltham Wildcats head coach Craig Stratford is excited to add Glover’s success & experience into his group.

“To have a two-time NBL championship player join our roster for the 2023 season is really exciting. Angus was a priority for us in the offseason as he is a high-quality individual who fits our culture. He will have a big impact for us both on and off the court.”

Glover is excited for the challenge ahead and finally ready to don the red and black jersey.

“It feels great to be able to put on an Eltham uniform and compete for a championship with a great group of guys. Missing out on playing for the Wildcats a couple years ago due to Covid sucked but having another opportunity to play for the club is a great feeling.

“Head coach Craig Stratford and I have bonded since day one of starting this whole process. I feel like we have a deep group and will be really competitive. The end goal is to win a championship and the guys have been working hard to accomplish that. I can’t wait to join them soon.

“I’m also looking forward to meeting everyone at the club and getting out in the community.”

Glover will join the team shortly to prepare for the NBL1 South season that tips off on April 1st at Diamond Valley. The NBL1 represents the highest level achievable for players, coaches, technical officials and game day staff in the Eltham Wildcats pathway. It provides individuals in the north-east of Melbourne with a chance to be exposed to the national leagues. The Eltham Wildcats aim to have teams that strongly represent the north-east of Melbourne and players who’ve come through the Eastern Districts Junior Basketball Association (EDJBA).
