The Eltham Wildcats are excited to announce the signing of Callum Dalton for the 2023 NBL1 South season.

The 6’10 Centre from Logan in Queensland has represented Australia at both FIBA U17 World Championships in 2016 and the FIBA U19 World Championships in 2019 before signing with the Brisbane Bullets as a Development Player in 2020.

After spending two seasons with the Bullets, Dalton signed a one-year deal with Melbourne United for the 2022/23 season where he played in six games.

Coach Craig Stratford believes the skill set Dalton will bring to the group will be a key addition to on and off the court.

“Since representing Australia at both the U17 and U19 world championships, Callum has been with Melbourne United and Brisbane Bullets in the NBL. His dominate post play, energy on defensive and his ability to shoot the ball, will see him fit well with the group we have started building at Eltham. We expect Callum will become a real favorite with our supporter base who will get to see another exciting young talent.”

The 22-year-old has already begun training with the Wildcats putting in the work to help take the team to the next level.

“I am super excited to be playing for a respected team like Eltham and I’m looking forward to playing with such a great group of guys. Hopefully we can continue to build the growing culture of this club and win a championship along the way.”

The NBL1 South season tips off on April 1st at Diamond Valley. You can watch Callum and the rest of the Wildcats in action this season with an Eltham Wildcats NBL1 Membership. Simply visit https://elthamwildcats.nbl1.com.au/pages/nbl1-memberships for more information.

The NBL1 represents the highest level achievable for players, coaches, technical officials and game day staff in the Eltham Wildcats pathway. It provides individuals in the north-east of Melbourne with a chance to be exposed to the national leagues. The Eltham Wildcats aim to have teams that strongly represent the north-east of Melbourne and players who’ve come through the Eastern Districts Junior Basketball Association (EDJBA).
