Coming off the NBL23 season where he led his New Zealand Breakers to the Championship Series, taking the Sydney Kings to a game five where he averaged 13.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and five assists in the series.
In a half-time interview during the NBL1 North Game of the Week, McDowell-White explained how the NBL1 has helped him progress in his career.
“The talent level is high, a lot of people get picked up in this league," he said.
“Anyone who wants to make that next step, NBL1. It’s legit”

In 2021 McDowell-White played for Red City Roar, where he averaged 18.7 points, 8.5 assists and 8.5 rebounds. But the family is still well represented in the NBL1 North as McDowell-White's sister, Hayley and brother, Kobe both now play for the Southern Districts Spartans.
