After a colossal NBL1 season where she claimed the NBL1 Central championship, the Finals MVP and a spot on the National Finals All-Star Five – Ally Wilson is ready to take on another WNBL season in Bendigo.

Wilson explained that her offseasons are spent making sure she is prepared and ready for the WNBL, making the NBL1 season the perfect way to hone her craft.

“I always try and get back and play NBL1,” she told NBL1 Media.

“To make sure I’m in shape and game-ready rolling into NBL1.”

Having spent all three NBL1 Central seasons with the Norwood Flames, Wilson’s squad made the Semi-Finals in 2022 and then pulled off an impossible Grand Final win against the then-undefeated Sturt Sabres.

“We were overlooked and underrated the entire season. To be able to come out and win the whole thing when nobody thought we were any good was always extra special,” Wilson said.

“Playing for Norwood, I’ve been there for three or four years now, so it was really special to give back to the club and give them a championship.”

Wilson will play tonight against the defending champion Townsville Fire, playing alongside National Champion Kelly Wilson and Knox Raiders star Alicia Froling.
