The Norwood Flames have made a big addition to their 2021 NBL1 Central roster with the signing of Adelaide Lightning WNBL star Ally Wilson.
Wilson has eight years of WNBL experience and averaged 11.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists for the Lightning in the 2020 season. The 24-year-old was named the 2014 WNBL Rookie of the Year and is a two-time WNBL champion (2015, 2017).
She will reconnect with coach Derrick Washington in Norwood, after Washington coached her in the 2018 SEABL (now NBL1 South) season with the Launceston Tornadoes.
“We are really excited to sign a marquee player of Ally’s level for the Flames,” Norwood NBL1 GM Will Smith said, via norwoodbasketball.com.au.
“She not only brings an amazing game to the team, but also does a lot of instrumental work in the community at large. Someone who works for others and really wants to give back, is the exact sort of individual we want contributing to the culture at our club.”
Wilson joins Shay’Lee Dayman and Genna Anderson as confirmed women’s signings for the Flames.
