The Joondalup Wolves have announced the re-signing of Alix Hayward for the 2021 NBL1 West season.
The 6’1 forward has been playing SBL since 2009 and won the SBL Most Improved Player in 2014.
Joining the Joondalup Wolves in 2020, Hayward played a part of the West Coast Classic league and averaged a field goal percentage of 56%.
Hayward spoke to the Joondalup Wolves on her thoughts on re-signing with the Wolves for 2021.
"I re-signed with the Wolves because it’s a fair and honest club with great players and coaches who can compete at a high level and I’m really looking forward to building on the success from last year," she said.
Joondalup Wolves Women’s Head Coach Charles Nix shared his thoughts on Hayward re-signing for the NBL1 West season.
"Alix is so underrated in our league and has been a really consistent performer for me in the time I’ve coached her," he said.
"She has a knack for the ball and always finds a way to get us extra possessions when we need them most.
"She’s hit some really big shots for us over her time as well and would be considered one of the steadiest heads we have on our roster.
"You know what you are getting with Alix and her value to our group really can’t be measured by statistics, it’s the intangibles that she brings that separate her from her peers.
"I’m very excited to have Alix back in green."
Hayward will be joining Kayla Steindl, Nes’eya Williams, Izzy Miotti, Chelsea Belcher, Amy Kidner, Georgia Denehey and Amber Land on the Wolves Women’s roster in 2021.
