Yar Garang Mayen Joins Lakeside Lightning!

We’re excited to welcome Yar to the 2025 Lakeside Lightning Women’s Team!

Off the court, Yar is soft-spoken and kind, but on the court, she’s a fierce competitor. From the moment she stepped onto the court at tryouts, her speed, agility, and skill stood out, making it clear she would be a valuable addition to the NBL1 West Conference.

Yar also brings invaluable experience as a member of the South Sudanese National Team. Competing at the international level has sharpened her skills and given her a competitive edge, and we’re thrilled to have a player of her caliber on board.

With lockdown defense and a sharp shooting touch, Yar is set to make a big impact this season. We can’t wait to see her in action, and we know the Lakeside community will love watching her play!
