The Ballarat Miners have announced their first import signing for the 2023 NBL1 South season with Tyler Rudolph signing on with the club.
Rudolph is a 6'6 forward who hails from Bismarck, North Dakoda and spent four years at Minot State, where he averaged 30.1 minutes, 17 points and 7 rebounds per game before starting his career with Albacete in Spain in 2019.
Ballarat Miners men’s head coach Luke Sunderland is excited to bring in such a talent for next season.
“Tyler is an NCAA All-American and has competed across levels in Europe which greatly translates to how not only the NBL1 is played but how we want to play and represent ourselves which is why he is an exciting asset for the Miners this season," he said.
“Tyler's versatility inside and out on offence will add another element to our squad and will fit in quickly to the team and the Ballarat region.”
Upon signing with the Miners, Rudolph said he's ready to take on a new team in a new country.
“The Ballarat Miners as an organisation and coaching staff are great people and have been super helpful throughout this whole process. I have never been to Australia before, so I am excited to arrive see meet the community," he said.
“I hope I can bring whatever the team needs this year whether that’s scoring, rebounding, or anything else I think the team that is being built has a chance to win a lot of games.”
Rudolph is due to arrive in Ballarat in February ahead of the NBL1 South season starting in April. Rudolph joining fellow signings Nic Pozoglou and Zac Dunmore.
