NBL Champion Ignatius 'Iggy' Mitchell will return to the Norths Bears for the 2025 NBL1 East season.
A development player for the Sydney Kings’ champion run in NBL22 and representing NSW nationally from U16-U20s, his resume is already impressive at 21 years old.
He returns home to Australia after his first season in college with San Jose State University. While he redshirted the season, his experience overseas will prepare him for his first season back in the NBL1 since 2022.
He last played in Australia for the Bears, averaging 12.3 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game on the finals team.
He was set to join the Sydney Comets in 2023, before suffering a season-ending injury.
“[I’m] thrilled to play again for Coach Garlepp and around a lot of familiar faces and keen for my return to basketball after two years away due to injury,” he said via Norths’ social media.
