Former NBL1 East star Johnny Furphy has been drafted by the Indiana Pacers with the 35th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Joining Josh Giddey and Dyson Daniels as the third former NBL1 prospect to be drafted into the NBA, his 2023 season with the Centre of Excellence helped elevate him into a top-tier college prospect with Kansas.

The 19-year-old averaged 13.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists for the CoE, and he was a critical piece to their Semi-Finals finish in last season’s title run.

Furphy now joins an elusive group of NBL1 prospects drafted this year, with the most recent WNBA draft acquiring Nyadiew Puoch, Isobel Borlase and Jaz Shelley who all had their names called.
