The Mount Gambier Pioneers have signed experienced 190.5 cm Canadian, Cassandra Brown for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 South season.
Brown is a high performing international player who has played most recently in Luxembourg, although has also played in leagues in Sweden, Greece, Slovakia and Poland.
Brown has represented Canada at both Under 18s, and more recently for the Canadian Team in the 2019 Pan American Games.
She has played professionally since she left University in 2015.
Head Coach Matt Sutton was thrilled that Brown will be part of his roster for the coming season.
"I’m looking forward to having Cassandra join our squad, she's a versatile player that has great size and length that will give us versatility at both ends of the court," he said.
"Cassandra brings a lot of experience from overseas to our group, she has represented her national team, Canada, and has a fantastic college and professional career resume.
"She's going to be a big boost for our program."
In the 2021-22 Luxembourg League Brown averaged 54 percent shooting from the field and an impressive 20.5 points per game.
The Pioneers expect Brown to add extra depth to the team as an excellent offensive contributor for the team, but also a strong defensive performer.
