For the 2025 NBL1 South season, we’ve introduced a new weekly award: Points off the Bench. This initiative recognises the top-performing bench units across the league based on points per game (PPG). The use of Points-Per-Game allows for fair comparison across single, double, and triple-header rounds, as well as clubs fielding only one team. Each week's results will contribute toward an end-of-season recognition for the league’s most impactful bench.
In Round 1, Geelong United claimed top honours with 25.5 PPG, followed closely by Keilor Thunder with 25.0 PPG and Waverley Falcons with 24.5 PPG. In Round 2, Waverley Falcons led the way with 35.0 PPG, while Knox Raiders and Eltham Wildcats followed with 30.0 PPG and 21.0 PPG respectively.
Weekly updates will continue throughout the season as we shine a light on the depth and impact of benches across the league.
