Juna Umezawa and Tanner Krebs produced standout performances in wins for the Sandringham Sabres on the road to the Hobart Chargers to open Round 10 in the NBL1 South on Friday night.
It was a pair of wins for the Sandringham Sabres over the Hobart Chargers at Hobart Netball and Sports Centre with the women prevailing 77-67 and the men backing up to win 86-63.

Juna Umezawa put up 30 points and the Sandringham Sabres kept in touch of a top two spot with the 77-67 win to start their Tasmanian double beating the Hobart Chargers.
The Sabres started their double across Bass Strait this weekend looking to bounce back from last Friday's loss to the Waverley Falcons while the Chargers were attempting to back up beating the Launceston Tornadoes.
It was a tight contest throughout the first half with Hobart leading narrowly by two points at the end of the first quarter before Sandringham scored 24 points to 18 in the second term to go into half-time on top 40-36.
It was in the third quarter where the Sabres took control for good outscoring the Chargers 23 points to 13 on the way to leading by as much as 16 points.
The Chargers didn’t go away completely, though, and the home team got back within three points early in the fourth quarter shortly after a big three from Cierra Walker.
However, Sandringham did enough to steady and score the 10-point win to improve to 12-3 on the season with Japanese star Juna Umezawa shining with 30 points and five rebounds on 9/11 shooting from the field and 11/13 from the free-throw line.
Isis Lopes also had 15 points, five assists and three rebounds for the Sabres, Klara Wischer 11 points, 12 boards and seven assists, and Eilidh Simpson 11 points, three rebounds and two assists.
Hobart is now 5-10 following the defeat with Jayda Jansen top-scoring with 23 points, three rebounds and two assists.
Cierra Walker added 17 points and four assists, Zoe Richards 11 points and nine rebounds, and Andie Smith six points to go with five boards and two blocked shots.
The Chargers don't play again until hitting the road next Friday against the Mount Gambier Pioneers while the Sabres stay in Tasmania to play the Launceston Tornadoes on Saturday.

The Sandringham Sabres made the perfect start to their Tasmanian road double this weekend with the 86-63 win over the Hobart Chargers on the back of 26 points from Tanner Krebs.
The Sabres arrived at Hobart Netball and Sports Centre on a seven-game winning streak and took on a Chargers team having won three straight themselves, but without Tasmania JackJumpers championship winning captain Clint Steindl.
Sandringham did manage to lead by three points at quarter-time before then blowing the game open in the second period with 27 points to 12 to go into the half-time break on top 49-31.
From there the Sabres ended up leading by as much as 23 points in the second half and that would end up as the final margin with Sandringham making it eight straight wins to improve to 11-4 on the season to consolidate a top two spot.
Melbourne United NBL star Tanner Krebs had a big night for the Sabres with 26 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks with 4/8 three-point shooting.
CJ Asuncion-Byrd added 16 points, three steals and two assists, Tom Koppens 11 points and five rebounds, and Shea Ili 11 points, four boards and two assists.
Hobart is now 9-6 on the season with the three-game winning run coming to an end with Terrell Brown having a tough shooting night going 4/23 but still having 16 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
Ole Angerstein also had 13 points and nine rebounds, Jordan Straatsma 10 points and eight boards, and Joe Chilcott seven points and three rebounds.
The Chargers don't play again until hitting the road next Friday against the Mount Gambier Pioneers while the Sabres stay in Tasmania to play the North West Tasmania Thunder on Saturday.
