Haliegh Reinoehl and Nick Marshall led the Mount Gambier Pioneers to Friday night NBL1 South wins while Cierra Dillard put up 46 points in a Melbourne Tigers win as Vionte Daniels and Terrell Brown lifted the Hobart Chargers.
In the two women's Friday night matches to open Round 6, the Melbourne Tigers defeated the Hobart Chargers 72-68 and the Mount Gambier Pioneers downed the Nunawading Spectres 80-63.
The men's match ups then saw the Chargers beat the Tigers 81-63 and the Pioneers defeated the Spectres 96-78.

Hobart Chargers (68) lost to Melbourne Tigers (72)
A stunning 46-point outing from Cierra Dillard helped the Melbourne Tigers finish the better over the Hobart Chargers to start their road double weekend in style beating the Hobart Chargers 72-68.
The Tigers are spending the weekend in Tasmania and that started on Friday at Hobart Netball and Sports Centre with both teams attempting to arrest their losing slides of recent weeks.
It was the Chargers who started the better on their home floor and they had opened up a 10-point advantage by quarter-time.
Hobart pushed that lead out to as much as 13 points in the second term before still being up 32-27 at half-time and then the edge for the Chargers got out to as much 15 points in the third frame as well.
The Tigers had to dig deep to avoid a third successive defeat and that's exactly what they did by scoring 14 straight points either side of three quarter-time.
That saw them grab the lead midway through the fourth quarter and they were able to complete the job from there for the four-point win to improve to 5-4 on the season.
It was a remarkable evening from Cierra Dillard for the Tigers as she finished with 46 points, eight rebounds and five assists on the back of 15/24 shooting from the field, 5/11 from downtown and 11/15 at the free-throw line.
Kayla Steindl finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and four assists for the Chargers who have now lost four straight to be 3-6.
Jayda Jansen also had 11 points, four assists and three rebounds, Zoe Banks 10 points and three boards, Cierra Walker nine points, eight rebounds and four assists, and Zoe Richards eight points, 10 boards and three assists.
The Tigers stay in Tasmania to take on the Launceston Tornadoes on Saturday night while the Chargers are next in action next Saturday away to Keilor Thunder.

Mount Gambier Pioneers (80) defeated Nunawading Spectres (63)
The Mount Gambier Pioneers maintained their hold on top spot in the NBL1 South with the 80-63 home victory against the Nunawading Spectres.
The Pioneers did suffer their first loss of the season to start their road double last week against Geelong United before bouncing back the next night to beat the defending champion Bendigo Braves.
They were back home on Friday at Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre to host the Spectres trying to win consecutive games for the first time this season too.
Mount Gambier started well to be leading by six points at quarter-time and then the Pioneers went on with the job from there to open up a 15-point advantage in the second term, and to go into half-time on top 49-34.
The lead kept growing through the second half as well with Mount Gambier ending up leading by 20 points in the third quarter, and 21 in the fourth on the way to the eventual 17-point triumph.
The Pioneers improve to an 8-1 record on the season as a result of the win with Haliegh Reinoehl delivering 24 points, 15 rebounds and two assists on 10/17 shooting from the floor.
Isa Brancatisano added 20 points, four rebounds and four assists, Zitina Aokuso 12 points, four boards, four assists and two steals, and Sherria Calleia 12 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Rachel Antoniadou top-scored for Nunawading with 13 points and four rebounds while Isabel Feller contributed 11 points, five boards and two steals, and Bride Kennedy-Hopoate seven points and three rebounds.
It's the only game of the weekend for both teams with the Pioneers to take on the Knox Raiders away next Saturday with the Spectres on the road the same night to Geelong United.

Hobart Chargers (81) defeated Melbourne Tigers (63)
The Hobart Chargers pulled away in the second half to secure the 81-63 win at home on Friday against the Melbourne Tigers.
The Chargers were back home at Hobart Netball and Sports Centre looking to keep building some momentum this season while the Tigers arrived looking for a winning start to their Tasmanian double this weekend.
Every time Hobart threatened to pull away Melbourne was able to get back in touch with the Chargers only leading by two points at quarter-time and then just by four at the half.
However, there was only so much holding on the Tigers could continue to do and the Chargers built up a match-winning advantage throughout the second half with the lead getting out to 11 points in the third period.
That advantage got out to 19 in the final quarter and Hobart went on to win by 18 to improve to 6-3 on the season with Vionte Daniels ending up with 22 points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals with 4/9 three-point shooting.
Terrell Brown added 22 points and six rebounds for the Chargers, Ole Angerstein 16 points and nine boards, and Jacob Richards 10 points, five rebounds and two assists.
Tasmania JackJumpers championship winning captain Clint Steindl played more than 30 minutes and only took three shots in total to finish with five points, 10 rebounds and three assists.
The Tigers are now 3-6 following the loss with Tom Wilson finishing with 19 points, four rebounds and four assists with Jack Purchase contributing 18 points, seven boards and three assists, and Michael Wearne 16 points and seven rebounds.
The Tigers stay in Tasmania to take on the North West Tasmania Thunder on Saturday night while the Chargers are next in action next Saturday away to Keilor Thunder.

Mount Gambier Pioneers (96) defeated Nunawading Spectres (78)
The Mount Gambier Pioneers dominated the second half to set up the eventual 96-78 home victory over the Nunawading Spectres.
Mount Gambier came into Round 6 of the NBL1 South in top spot having won their last two games while Nunawading were attempting to bounce back from last week's loss to the Diamond Valley Eagles.
It was a tight game for the opening three quarters with no more than seven points separating the two teams with Nunawading leading by a point after one, and then scores being all square by half-time.
Both teams had their time in front in the third quarter as well before Mount Gambier went into three quarter-time leading by six, and then it was all the Pioneers in the final term.
Mount Gambier outscored Nunawading 27 points to 15 to secure the 18-point home win to improve to 7-2 on the season and remain in top spot on the NBL1 South table.
Nick Marshall produced a huge night in the win for the Pioneers finishing with 34 points, nine assists and seven rebounds on 13/16 shooting from the floor and 6/7 from three-point territory.
Dylan Marshall also had 17 points and two rebounds on 5/9 three-point shooting while Austin Shelley contributed 16 points and three assists, Titus Robinson 11 points, three boards and two assists, and Akech Aliir 11 points and 14 rebounds.
The Spectres are now 5-4 following the defeat with Christian D'Angelo top-scoring with 19 points with 5/8 shooting from behind the three-point line.
Jalen Johnson added 14 points and eight rebounds, Jack Gandolfo 17 points, seven assists, four rebounds and two steals, and Trendon Hankerson 13 points, four boards and three assists.
