NBL1 East star Will “Davo” Hickey has signed with the Albury-Wodonga Bandits for the 2024 NBL1 season.
Spending last season with the NBL1 East’s Illawarra Hawks, Hickey averaged 22.8 points, 9.9 rebounds and 6.2 assists -- the team narrowly missing finals with a ninth-placed finish on the ladder.
Bandits head coach Matt Kowalczyk said he cannot wait to add the talents of Hickey to the roster.
"It's really exciting to be able to add Davo to a strong local playing group. He's been one of the best players in the NBL1 for a long time and is now showing that talent on the NBL level,” he said.
“He plays an exciting style of basketball that will complement the rest of the group and I'm sure the fans and wider basketball community are going to love having him here."
In the NBL with the Illawarra Hawks, Hickey has been an impactful player for Justin Tatum’s squad – averaging eight minutes a game in 15 appearances for the Finals hopeful squad.
Hickey joins Lochie Cummings, Jacob Cincurak, Callan McDonald, Shawn Montague and Kevion Blaylock on the 2024 Bandits roster.
