Ammar returns to Spartans

The Southern Districts Spartans have announced that Queensland basketball legend Thomas Ammar will make his long-awaited return to Southern Districts for the 2021 NBL1 North season.

Ammar has had an established basketball career – playing 240 games in top Queensland leagues in addition to eight years of professional basketball experience in Lebanon. Ammar last played for the Spartans in the 2012 ABA season where he was awarded with team MVP.

Last year he played for the Logan Thunder in the QSL, averaging 9.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.

Ammar’s lights out shooting and reliable play will be an essential part of the Spartans' run during the upcoming NBL1 season and make him a fan favourite in the Southern Districts.

The Spartans begin their NBL1 North season on Saturday May 15 against the South West Metro Pirates.
