Basketball Queensland (BQ) are proud to announce a partnership with White Cloud Foundation.
White Cloud Foundation (WCF) is a Queensland-based not-for-profit organisation founded in 2011 by Professor Adam Scott.
WCF mission is to provide practical support, easy access to treatment, and early intervention programs for people living with or at risk of developing depression and anxiety in its many forms.
“This partnership represents an important step forward for Basketball Queensland in ensuring we provide not only our High-Performance athletes, coaches and officials but also our wider membership base with easy access to practical support and treatment for depression and anxiety."
"The work that Professor Adam Scott and his team at White Cloud have done is inspirational and should be commended; and it is my belief that we could not have found a better partner for the basketball community in Queensland," said CEO Josh Pascoe.
In Round 8 of the NBL1 North, the league is recognising Mental Health Round. This partnership between BQ and White Cloud will extend across not only the NBL1 North but all junior competitions including State Championships.
Professor Adam Scott recognised there was a significant gap in mental health services in regional, rural and remote areas of Australia. WCF provide a telehealth service which provides easy, early access to professional treatment for Queenslanders living with or at risk of developing depression and/or anxiety.
“We are really excited to be partnering with Basketball Queensland and extending our service to all the members across the entire state. You will now have access to support and help when you need it, wherever you need it."
“We are looking forward to being involved with the NBL1 North Mental Health Round and upcoming State Championships,” said White Cloud Founder Adam Scott.
All those involved in the Basketball community can receive free Tele-Mental Health support. From our regional to metropolitan clubs, from players, to coaches and volunteers, everyone is welcome to seek support by calling 07 3155 3456.
Mental health and fitness is more important than ever and we are proud to be partnering with White Cloud Foundation in 2022.
