Capitals add four for NBL1 North

The Brisbane Capitals have signed Courtney Middap, Ben Volkman, Hilary Fuller and Jordan Rangitawa for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 North season.

Rangitawa is from Wellington, New Zealand and is joining the Brisbane Capitals for her first season in NBL1 before travelling to the US on a basketball scholarship.

She grew up playing for Hutt Valley and represented New Zealand as a junior.

"Jordan is an exciting, young player and has the ability to impact a game from outside the arc," Caps women's coach Michael Van Dongen said.

"It will be a new environment for her playing in Australia but we can't wait to see her in Caps gear and competing with us this season."

Volkman is entering his third season with the Brisbane Capitals.

He is a Queensland junior player and was a part of our 2019 QBL Championship team.

Volkman averaged 14 points and nine rebounds over the 2021 season whilst racking up a few double-doubles.

He always brings energy to the team and isn't afraid to get under the skin of the opposition players.

"Big Benny Volkman is like a fine wine and continues to get better and better with age," Brisbane General Manager Hamish Cain said.

"He has been putting in a lot of work this off-season and we can't wait to get him back on the court.

"Ben's charisma is infectious when he gets going and he is always willing to dish it out on the court.

"I would love to see a 20-point and 20-rebound game from him this year."

Hilary Fuller will follow in her sister's footsteps in 2022.

She has national-level experience, having represented Queensland South at the 2021 U16 Australian Championships.

Fuller also has experience in Capitals colours, having represented the team in the SQJBC U18 Premier League.

Her sister Audrey is currently in the US playing college basketball and played for the Capitals in the 2021 NBL1 North season.
