Clifford returns to Rockhampton

The Rockhampton Cyclones have locked in a key signing for the 2021 NBL1 North season with captain Katrina Clifford returning.

The fearless leader provides plenty of experience and leadership to a new look group and her energy and effort can never be questioned.

“It is exciting to have our captain, Katrina Clifford back on the court for another year with the CQUniversity Cyclones,” coach Ben Greany said.

“Katrina continues to set the standard for everyone. She leads the way in everything we do as a group and is a great role model for the younger athletes.

“Katrina provides us with some deadly accuracy from the three-point line. She has made some big shots in her career to date, and I look forward to seeing her knock down plenty more this season.

“Especially in front of our home crowd, the roar of approval the Rockhampton fans provide for a long bomb from Katrina is something else. Can’t wait to hear that again.”

Clifford added how keen she is to hit the court again.

“I’m very exciting to again be leading the girls in our new look competition,” Clifford said.

“With such an interrupted year last year I am looking forward to putting on the shoes and working hard to achieve the best we can while having fun along the way.

“With new players coming in it will be great to watch us all mesh while hopefully packing out the stadium at our home games.”
