The Perth Redbacks have re-signed Mya Dimanlig and Zac Gattorna for the 2022 NBL1 West season.
Dimanlig was named the Most Improved Player in the Redbacks' D-League 2021 WABL championship.
She also featured in 11 games for Perth in the 2021 NBL1 West season.
Her best outing came against the South West Slammers in June, as she recorded four points to go with five rebounds.
Dimanlig joinsShenae Hartree, Mikayla Pirini, Rebecca Motroni, Jessica Jakens, Makailah Dyer, Denielle Ashworth and Raya Thompson on the Redbacks' women's roster.
Gattorna formed an intimidating front court duo with Louis Timms in 2021 with the two combining for more than 40 points and 14 rebounds per game for the season.?
His outstanding 2021 NBL1 season saw him win Perth's NBL1 Men's Most Improved Award, finish 14th in league MVP voting, and record season averages of 18 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and one steal.
It was just reward for his hard work when he earned himself a Development Player contract with the Adelaide 36ers this NBL season.?
Perth NBL1 Director Nathan Barns is extremely excited to have Gattorna back in red for 2022.
"Zac took his game up a level in the 2021 season and was rightly deserving of a spot on a NBL Roster," Barns said.
"We are excited to see Zac continue this progression and bring his knowledge and skill to the Redbacks.
"We see Zac as a real leader at the club and we are excited to have him a part of our leadership group for 2022."?
?Perth NBL1 Men's Head Coach CJ Jackson feels the same.
"After a successful 2021 NBL1 season and earning a much deserved DP spot with the Adelaide 36ers we are very excited to have Zac return to our club," Jackson said.
"His ability to play above the rim combined with his versatility are just some of the strong attributes he brings to our team.
"Combine this with the experience he is gaining playing in the NBL... he will bring a lot of energy for us.
"One of our major focuses this off-season was to secure Zac for 2022 and I’m very happy to have him back."
