Former Cairns Dolphin Cayla George has been crowned a WNBA champion with the Las Vegas Aces.

The 2021 NBL1 North MVP and 2022 First Team member has been one of the key stars of the competition for many years before getting her WNBA call-up.

In her last NBL1 season, she averaged 23.2 points, 16.4 rebounds and 6.8 assists for the Finals team.

Her last NBL1 season was followed up with a WNBL MVP season back with the Melbourne Boomers, before heading to Vegas to play with the Aces.

George started in Las Vegas’ championship-clinching game, scoring 11 points with four rebounds and three assists against the New York Liberty.

She now joins Sami Whitcomb (Willetton Tigers), Ezi Magbegor (Geelong United Supercats) and Lauren Jackson (Albury-Wodonga Bandits) as NBL1 players with WNBA champions.
