The reigning NBL1 North champions have signed Brisbane Bullet DJ Mitchell for the 2024 season.

The NBL1 North champion got his chance in the NBL after a dominant season with the Gold Coast Rollers in 2022.

In 42 games for the club, he's averaged 7.9 points, four rebounds and 1.2 assists as a highly productive bunch piece for the Bullets.

Mitchell missed the majority of the NBL24 season with a hip injury that required surgery, now making his comeback, the explosive forward will be able to work off the rust in the NBL1 North for the current champions.

“I look forward to competing for this club and the fans," Mitchell said.

"You guys have welcomed me with open arms and I can’t wait to get this thing going."

While championship coach Chris Riches added,

“We welcome DJ Mitchell to the Ipswich Force in 2024. I have been watching DJ for some time now in the NBL and NBL1 with great admiration," he said.

"His natural scoring mindset and athletic abilities are some of the best to be seen. In his short time at Ipswich, he has already become invested and is taking steps to help drive us forward.”

The NBL1 North starts Thursday, streaming live and free via NBL1.com.au, NBL1 App and Kayo Freebies.
