Johnson last played for the Ipswich Force in the 2019 QBL season, averaging 22.7 points and 13.5 rebounds per game while recording 11 double-doubles.
Johnson previously played at the University of Oregon where she averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds per game in her final year.
Following college, she was picked in the third round of the 2012 WNBA draft by Connecticut (traded to Phoenix). Unfortunately, she suffered a serious concussion which ended her WNBA chances, so she instead played professionally in Bulgaria and Switzerland.
After being awarded the MVP for the 2018 QBL season, Johnson played for the Sydney Uni Flames in the 2018/19 WNBL season.
Johnson joins Tylah King on the Pirates roster for the forthcoming campaign.
