The North Gold Coast Seahawks have announced their inaugural NBL1 North signing, unveiling Bradley Kann as their NBL1 Women’s Head coach.

Kann is coming off a stellar year, leading the North Gold Coast Seahawks to an undefeated QSL championship and landing Coach of the Year.

He then backed it up with an undefeated U16 Girls National tournament, securing the National Championship with a convincing in over SA Country.

In addition to his recent success, in just over 12 months of being the Director of Basketball at North Gold Coast Seahawks, Kann has created and delivered multiple new programs including Prep for Rep, Skills Sessions and Take Flight Academy, making him an invaluable asset to the North Gold Coast Seahawks Basketball community.

General Manager for the North Gold Coast Seahawks, Dwayne Vale, knew the appointment of Kann was a no-brainer.

"Since Brad has been on the ground here in his role as Director of Basketball, it has been nothing but positive," Vale said.

"His relentless work ethic with our juniors, along with his success this past season at QSL, made this appointment extremely easy.

"He manages the playing group extremely well, from an on and off-court perspective, and has built relationships with the teams he coaches really quickly - which means he is able to get the best out of the playing group.

"I’m really confident that Brad will be able to recruit and coach successfully at the NBL1 level, and we are excited to be able to give him the opportunity to be Head Coach in our first season of NBL1."

Kann was excited and humbled with his appointment as Head Coach.

"I’ve really enjoyed my time at the Seahawks so far, and to become an NBL1 Head Coach in our first season was a personal goal of mine," Kann said.

"I know we have a lot of work ahead of us when it comes to retaining the core of our playing group from this past QSL season and recruiting key pieces, but I know I am up for the challenge and can’t wait for season 2022 already."
