NBL1 South and Basketball Victoria are pleased to announce the winners of the 2025 CREST Shield — an initiative recognising the best combined men’s and women’s program across the regular season through total wins combined.
Now in its second year, the CREST Shield acknowledges the outstanding efforts of an association in fielding successful on court teams across both competitions. The acronym CREST stands for ‘Combined Results End of Season Tally’, an initiative formed with input from the League Advisory Panel (LAP). This award continues to highlight NBL1 South’s foundation principle of gender equity — with all participating associations required to field both men’s and women’s teams.
NBL1 South League Manager Alison Cody said:
‘’The Shield is to recognise the best on-court performance by an association; more specifically, by combining the number of wins during the regular season from both the men's and women's teams. Winning games is what all teams want to achieve week to week’’
“The CREST Shield is a way for us to celebrate the on-court performance by an association across both their men’s and women’s teams. Back-to-back winners Knox have again set the benchmark for what a strong program can achieve.” Knox, between their men’s and women’s teams amassed 36 wins, out of a possible 44 games across the NBL1 South regular season.
Their consistent performance across both teams solidifies Knox’s reputation as one of the competition’s leading associations.
