All five matches in Round 7 of the NBL1 East Women's competition took place on Saturday night with wins for the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, Sutherland Sharks, Albury-Wodonga Bandits, Illawarra Hawks and Canberra Nationals.
The Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles delivered a dominant performance to beat the Hills Hornets 92-40 at the Northern Beaches with Alex Delaney putting up 21 points. Paris Roditis top-scored for the Hornets with 10 points.
It was a big win also at home for the Sutherland Sharks who defeated the Maitland Mustangs 82-55. Lauren Nicholson put up another 22 points for the Sharks with Hannah Griffin putting up 17 points for the shorthanded Maitland.
Lauren Jackson once again inspired the Albury-Wodonga Bandits to an impressive win, this time defeating the Norths Bears 85-71. The all-time great delivered another 30 points and 11 rebounds with Ai Yamada contributing 22 points and 10 boards.
Both Riley Evans and Kate Seebohm scored 15 points apiece for the Bears.
The Illawarra Hawks also scored a victory at home on Saturday night over the Newcastle Falcons 87-78.
Tyler Scaife finished with 24 points for the Hawks while Chyra Evans delivered 29 points and 15 rebounds for the Falcons.
The night's action wrapped up at Belconnen Basketball Stadium with the Canberra Nationals defeating the Central Coast Crusaders.
Lizzy Tonks scored 21 points to go with 15 rebounds and five assists for Canberra with Sara Matthews top-scoring for Central Coast with 16 points.

MANLY-WARRINGAH SEA EAGLES 92 defeated HILLS HORNETS 40
The Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles produced a dominant performance at home to beat the Hills Hornets by 52 points on their home court on Saturday night.
The Sea Eagles hosted the Hornets at Northern Beaches Indoor Sports Centre and the home team started strongly from the outset and were leading by quarter-time 26-15.
It was another 18 points to eight in the second quarter from Manly before they completed the job with 24 points to 14 in the third term, and 24 points to just three in the fourth.
That saw the Sea Eagles end up winning 92-40 with the result leaving both teams sitting on 4-4 records after seven rounds of the 2022 NBL1 East season.
It was a dominant performance on the boards as well for Manly as they collected 66 rebounds to just 39 from Hills while they shot 42.7 per cent from the floor opposed to 21.1 per cent for the Hornets.
Alex Delaney finished with 21 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Sea Eagles with Maja Jurlina contributing 16 points and four rebounds, Kim Hodge 13 points, nine boards and four steals, Sari Mowbray 10 points, and Bree Delaney 10 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
Paris Roditis top-scored for the Hornets with 10 points, six rebounds and three assists with Taryn Mahoney contributing eight points and five steals, Alana Goodchild six points and five rebounds, and Kelsey Curtin six points.
SUTHERLAND SHARKS 82 defeated MAITLAND MUSTANGS 55
The Sutherland Sharks maintained their hold on top spot in the NBL1 East competition with a 27-poitn win at home on Saturday against the Maitland Mustangs.
The Sharks hosted the Mustangs at Sutherland Basketball Stadium and started emphatically with 24 points to 14 in the opening quarter.
It was more of the same in the second period with Sutherland delivering another 22 points to 12 to go into the half-time break leading 46-26.
The Sharks continued on their merry way in the third quarter with another 22 points to 12 to lead by as much as 34 points before going on to score the 82-55 victory.
The win improves Sutherland to a 6-1 record to be in top spot of the NBL1 East standings while the Mustangs are now 2-6 after seven rounds of the 2022 season.
The Sharks dominated the boards with 53 rebounds to 33 including 18 at the offensive end to six.
Lauren Nicholson top-scored for Sutherland with 22 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists while knocking down 3/4 from three-point territory.
Madeline Norris added 13 points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists, Lauren Calver 11 points and five rebounds, and Hannah Clinen eight points and four boards.
Hannah Griffin top-scored for Maitland with 17 points with Rachel Williams contributing 14 points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals, and Karlee Grayson 10 points and five boards.
ALBURY-WODONGA BANDITS 85 defeated NORTHS BEARS 71
Lauren Jackson put on another masterclass on the court bearing her name to lead the Albury-Wodonga Bandits to the win against the Norths Bears on Saturday night.
The Bandits were back at Lauren Jackson Sports Centre for the Round 7 NBL1 East clash and with Jackson herself once again showing the way, they opened up an eight-point lead on the Bears by quarter-time.
Albury-Wodonga led by double-figures most of the evening on the back of that and led by as much as 15 points on a couple of occasions.
To the credit of the Bears they kept fighting and even went on a 10-0 scoring run during the final quarter but it didn’t stop the Bandits ending up winning 85-71.
The victory improves Albury-Wodonga to a 5-2 record on the season while the Bears are now 5-1 having suffered their first defeat of the season.
Lauren Jackson once again produced another standout performance for the Bandits. She played over 31 minutes and finished the evening with 30 points and 11 rebounds.
Ai Yamada added 22 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals while hitting 3/6 from downtown while Brodie-Paige Theodore had 13 points, four boards, three assists and three steals, and Amelia Hassett 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Kate Seebohm finished with 15 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists for the Bears with Riley Evans contributing 15 points and three boards, Carla Pitman 14 points and eight rebounds, and Jessica Bygate 12 points, seven boards and three assists.
ILLAWARRA HAWKS 87 defeated NEWCASTLE FALCONS 78
The Illawarra Hawks were able to overpower the Newcastle Falcons in the second half for a nine-point win at home on Saturday night.
The Hawks hosted the Falcons at The Snakepit in Wollongong and started strongly with 24 points to 18 in the first quarter, but Newcastle stayed in touch with 24 points to 23 in the second to only trail 47-42 by half-time.
Illawarra was able to pull away in the second half, though, with 23 points to 18 in the third term to end up leading by as much as 12 points and then going on to record the 87-78 victory.
The win improves the Hawks to a 6-2 record on the season after seven rounds while the Falcons are 5-2.
Tyler Scaife ended up leading the way in the win for Illawarra with 24 points on 10/17 shooting from the field.
Rebecca Abel added 16 points and four assists for the Hawks, Ella Dent 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals, Ebony Petre 13 points and four rebounds, and Georgia Ohrdorf 11 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Chyra Evans produced 29 points and 15 rebounds in a huge effort for Newcastle with Emily Foy contributing 18 points and four boards, and Kate Kingham 17 points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals while hitting 4/10 from three-point range.
CANBERRA NATIONALS 81 defeated CENTRAL COAST CRUSADERS 67
The Canberra Nationals produced a massive final quarter to beat the Central Coast Crusaders at home on Saturday.
Canberra was hosting Central Coast on Saturday at Belconnen Basketball Stadium, and it was the Nationals leading narrowly by two points at quarter-time.
The Nationals marginally extended their advantage to 36-30 by half-time but the Crusaders did well in the third quarter with 24 points to 19 and it was game on by three quarter-time.
It was Canberra who delivered with the game on the line, though, with the home team scoring 26 points to 13 in the fourth quarter to set up the eventual 81-67 victory.
Canberra now improves to a 3-5 record on the season following the victory while Central Coast slip to 1-6.
The Nationals racked up 61 rebounds for 42 from the Crusaders which helped Canberra to end up taking 18 extra field goals to make up for only shooting 29.3 per cent from the field opposed to the 35.9 per cent from Central Coast.
Lizzy Tonks top-scored for the Nationals with 21 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and three steals while hitting 4/9 from three-point territory.
Bianca Dufelmeier also put up 13 points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists, Chloe Tugliach 12 points and four boards, and Abby Solway 10 points and five rebounds.
Sara Matthews top-scored for Central Coast with 16 points to go with seven rebounds and four assists while Abbey Cracknell added 14 points and four boards, Jonalyn Wittwer 13 points, and Bronte Moore 10 points and five rebounds.
