Rockhampton Cyclones 41 def by Logan Thunder 78

Logan Thunder improved to an 11-0 win-loss record with a 78-41 victory over Rockhampton Cyclones at Bravus Arena on Friday night.

Thunder guard Mikaela Cann, who scored a game-high 21 points, was joined by Chevannah Paalvast (15 points), Ashley Taia (12 points), and Danielle Bayes (10 points) in double figures.

Logan centre Mikaela Ruef stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, 18 rebounds, six assists and five steals.

Rockhampton’s Annaliese Watkinson top scored for the home side with 12 points while centre Lara McSpadden tallied a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds.

Ipswich Force 85 def Gold Coast Rollers 75

Ipswich Force fought back from a 10-point deficit to overcome Gold Coast Rollers 85-75 at JBS Stadium on Friday night.

Force centre Abby Bishop scored 10 of her game-high 29 points in the final quarter to help Ipswich outscore the Rollers 27-7. She also tallied nine rebounds and six assists.

Ipswich guard Amy Lewis, alongside Bishop, played every minute of the game and added 24 points, six rebounds and seven assists.

The Gold Coast attack was led by Lauren Mansfield (25 points), Casey Samuels (19 points), and Aimee Durbidge 16 points.

The Rollers, led by Mansfield’s 12 third-quarter points, turned around a three-point deficit at half time to outscore the home side 31-18 in the third quarter. But that impressive stretch of play ran out of legs in the fourth quarter.

Townsville Flames 56 def by Sunshine Coast Phoenix 65

Sunshine Coast Phoenix picked up an important road win with a 65-56 victory over Townsville Flames at Townsville StarFM Stadium on Friday night.

The fifth-placed Phoenix (7-4) sit just behind the fourth-placed Flames (7-3) on the ladder.

Sunshine Coast’s teamwork was on full display as they registered 20 assists, 10 more than the home side, and strong contributions from the starting five.

Phoenix guard Amy Browne scored a team-high 17 points, while Kathleen MacLeod (15 points) and Jennifer Carden-David (11 points from 4 of 4 shooting and 3 of 3 free throws) also scored in double figures.

Rachael McCully added nine points and 10 assists while Bianca Abbott chimed in with eight points and nine rebounds.

Townsville’s Mia Murray scored a game-high 23 points while Michaela Cocks added 15 points.
