Gold Coast Rollers 98 def Red City Roar 48
Gold Coast Rollers claimed a 98-48 wire-to-wire victory over Red City Roar at Carrara Stadium on Friday night.
Rollers forward Casey Samuels scored a game-high 29 points in just 25 minutes of court time. Samuels hit 5 of 9 from deep and collected six rebounds and four assists.
Gold Coast registered all nine players in the points column with Caitlin Cunningham (16 points), Aimee Durbidge (16 points) and Sarah Ambrose (10 points) alongside of Samuels in double figures.
Red City’s Jaylen Cooper scored a team-high 14 points with 4 of 6 made from the perimeter.
Mackay Meteorettes 87 def Ipswich Force 77
Mackay returned to the win column with an 87-77 win over Ipswich Force at Mackay Basketball Stadium on Friday night.
Meteorettes forward Chelsea Brook scored a game-high 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead Mackay to its first win after three straight losses.
Courtney Virgo also tallied a double-double with her season-best 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Mackay’s Sara Storeshaw (13 points and 8 assists) and Skye Rees (13 points) shared the points for the Meteorettes in a 12-4 run to close out the game.
Ipswich Force were led by Abby Bishop (21 points) and Amy Lewis (17 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists).
Kelsey McDermott (13 points) and Ali Burke (12 points) also scored in double figures for the Force.
Cairns Dolphins 75 def by Brisbane Capitals 99
Brisbane Capitals claimed a 99-75 road win over Cairns Dolphins at Early Settler Stadium on Friday night.
Capitals 10-player roster all registered on the scoresheet including six players in double figures in the wire-to-wire victory.
Anna Cameron led the way for Brisbane with 14 points and 16 rebounds, while Madison Woodford also tallied a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists.
Brisbane’s Stephanie Collins scored an equal team-high 14 points and was joined by Brook Blair (12 points), Audrey Fuller (11 points) and Brooklyn Betham (10 points) in double figures.
Dolphins forward Sarah Heard scored a game-high 19 points including 3 of 7 from deep. The other main contributors for Cairns were Leichan Williams (13 points, 8 rebounds), Myra Donkin (12 points, 9 assists) and Jadah Luki (12 points).
