Northside Wizards 78 def Rockhampton Cyclones 64

Northside Wizards are back in the win column after a 78-64 win over Rockhampton Cyclones at South Pine Sports Complex.

Wizards guard Tiana Mangakahia, who returned home for the NBL1 after a WNBA pre-season stint with the Phoenix Mercury, scored a game-high 34 points.

Mangakahia, who set the assist record at Syracuse University, dialled up her own number to convert 11 of 26 field goals including 4 of 10 from deep.

She was joined by Courtney Woods (24 points) in the Wizards backcourt – the pair combined for 74% of Northside’s scoring.

Cyclones centre Lara McSpadden, who averages a 22 points, 13 rebounds double-double this season, continued to dominate in the paint with 30 points and 15 rebounds.
