Gold Coast Rollers held off South West Metro Pirates for a 61-58 victory at Carrara Stadium on Saturday night.
Gold Coast’s Casey Samuels scored a game-high 21 points including the go-ahead basket (55-53) with 4.21 left in the game. The sharpshooter nailed 5 of 13 from beyond the arc.
Aimee Durbidge tallied a double double with 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Rollers.
Pirates centre Amanda Johnson top scored for the visitors with 16 points and 16 rebounds.
Red City Roar 69 def by USC Rip City 96
USC Rip City picked up a road win with a 96-69 victory over Red City Roar at The Paul Bancroft Centre on Saturday night.
Rip City guard Jasmine Forcadilla scored a team-high 21 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Backcourt partner Bree Delaney almost tallied a triple double as well with 11 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
Carlie Smith registered a solid double double with 18 points and 16 rebounds while Alex Delaney (17 points) and Layla Prince (11 points) also registered in double figures for the visitors.
Red City’s Bride Kennedy-Hopoate scored a game-high 26 points and pulled down 13 rebounds.
Sunshine Coast Phoenix 45 def by Logan Thunder 100
Logan centre Mikaela Ruef put up a monster double double in the Thunder’s 100-45 win over Sunshine Coast Phoenix at Maroochydore Stadium on Saturday night.
Ruef scored an equal game-high 25 points and pulled down 23 rebounds to help keep the Thunder undefeated (10-0).
Logan’s Carla Drennan also scored 25 points with 5 of 10 three-pointers made, and Danielle Bayes added 16 points with 4 of 10 made from deep.
Amy Browne offered the main resistance for the Phoenix with 21 points, but the home side struggled with their shooting efficiency.
Southern Districts Spartans 98 def Mackay Meteorettes 67
Southern Districts Spartans won their 10th straight for the season with a 98-67 win over Mackay Meteorettes on Saturday night.
With the Spartans and the Thunder both undefeated through nine rounds it potentially sets up a blockbuster top-of-the-table clash at Logan in Round 11 on Saturday, 24 July.
The Spartans once again shared the majority of points around their starters Nadeen Payne (24 points), Maddison Rocci (16 points), Madelyn Willey (14 points), Kalani Purcell (13 points) and Ash Karaitiana (11 points).
Purcell (pictured) pulled down 10 rebounds to register a double double.
It was just Mackay’s second loss of the season (8-2).
The Meteorettes had four in double figures with Chelsea Brook (19 points), Heidi Freeburn (13 points), Skye Rees (13 points) and Jacqui Zelenka (11 points).

Townsville Flames improved to 7-2 with a 90-49 win over North Queensland rivals Cairns Dolphins at Townsville StarFM Stadium on Saturday night.
Mia Murray scored a game-high 20 points in the wire-to-wire win for the Flames.
Aliza Fabbro (16 points), Harriet Clay (15 points), Stephanie Reid (12 points) and Micaela Cpocks (10 points) also scored in double figures for the home side.
Leichan Williams (19 points) and Sarah Heard (14 points) top scored for the Dolphins.
