Ipswich Force 89 def South West Metro Pirates 83

Ipswich Force showed true grit in a fightback 89-83 win over South West Metro Pirates at JBS Stadium on Sunday.

Down 46-36 at half-time, the Force began to close the margin but only took the lead for the first time since the first quarter with a Mitchell Poulain free throw at the 5.17 mark in the fourth quarter.

The momentum carried the Force, who outscored the Pirates 31-19 in the final quarter, to the finish line.

Ipswich’s marquee players Isaac White (24 points, 10 rebounds) and Matt Hodgson (26 points, 20 rebounds) starred for the home side. Ryan Jeffries chimed in with 17 points.

Kai Woodfall scored a team-high 16 points and dished out 8 assists for the Pirates. He was joined by Brendan Teys (13 points), Brandon Day (13 points), Jakobe Hunter (13 points), and Christian Pang (12 points).

Northside Wizards 74 def by Mackay Meteors 107

Mackay Meteors were too strong for Northside Wizards with a 107-74 victory at South Pine Sports Complex on Sunday.

The Meteors were able to register all 12 players in points and rebounds but it was Jerron Jamerson who top scored for the visitors with 26 points.

Emmanuel Malou (17 points), Viliami Foketi (15 points), and Max Cain (10 points in 10 minutes of work) were Mackay’s other main contributors on offence.

Harrison Froling tallied 13 rebounds for Mackay.

The Wizards offence got contributions from Jesse Ghee (19 points), Atem Atem (17 points), an dMitch McCarron (10 points).
