Waverley Falcons 99 def Geelong Supercats 95
The Waverley Falcons have handed the Geelong Supercats its first loss of the season, winning in front of its home fans in overtime.
It was a close game throughout, with neither team extending its lead into double-digits for the length of the contest.
The Supercats got off to a strong start, scoring the first eight points of the game, however the Falcons were more than up to the task, going on its own run to outscore Geelong 17-6 after the initial flurry.
Durrell Mcdonald led the way for Waverley, scoring 28 points while doing a bit of everything on the court.
Mcdonald came up huge down the stretch for the Falcons, tying the game in the closing seconds after Geelong had led for the entire fourth quarter.
Isaac Turner had one final opportunity to win the game for the Supercats in regulation, however his three-point attempt was off target and the game headed to overtime.
Turner continued his aggressive attacking play in the extra period, scoring six of Geelong’s 10 points, however it would not be enough to secure the win after Waverley’s Jake Heath hit an enormous three-pointer to put the Falcons in front in the final 30 seconds.
Heath finished with 22 points and connected on five three-pointers in the victory.

Nunawading Spectres 92 def Dandenong Rangers 81
The Nunawading Spectres have bounced back after Saturday evening’s loss, taking away an impressive victory over the Dandenong Rangers at home.
Apart from when the Rangers led 4-3 in the opening minutes, Nunawading controlled the lead, as well as just about every other aspect of the game.
After jumping out to a 30-19 in the opening quarter, the Spectres continued to pile on the points, despite missing centre Simon Conn.
In Conn’s absence, Dain Swetalla put together a spectacular game, finishing the contest with 27 points, 10 rebounds and three steals.
On the other side, Dandenong’s duo of Oliver Hayes-Brown and Sean Macdonald did their best to get the Rangers back into the game, combining for 55 points.
While Dandenong were able to reduce the lead to nine points in the final term, it was too little, too late as Nunawading secured the relatively comfortable win.

Melbourne Tigers 95 def by Mt Gambier Pioneers 123

The Mt Gambier Pioneers have put together one of the most impressive victories of the NBL1 season, dominating the Melbourne Tigers on the road from start to finish.
The Pioneers laid the foundation for the drubbing in the first quarter, as Mt Gambier’s offense was simply too potent for the Tigers to do anything about.
Melbourne could only watch as the lead continued to balloon throughout the rest of the game, reaching as many as 43 points at the end of the third quarter.
Nick Marshall top scored for Mt Gambier, tallying 32 points, while Duom Dawam and Tom Kubank each scored 20 points.
The Pioneers took their foot off the pedal in the final term, as Melbourne took a chunk out of the lead, however the game was already over at that point.
This marks the fourth consecutive victory for the Pioneers, who continue to look more and more dangerous each week.
