Round 6 in the NBL1 West Women's season got underway with two matches on Friday night with the Lakeside Lightning finishing strongly to defeat the East Perth Eagles 81-71.
The defending champion Willetton Tigers then came back from a hefty deficit to beat the Perry Lakes Hawks 69-62.
There were then four more Round 6 matches on Saturday evening starting at HBF Arena with the Joondalup Wolves defeating the South West Slammers 106-51 in the battle of the undefeated and winless teams for 2022.
Teige Morrell was again impressive for the Wolfpack with 22 points, 11 rebounds and four assists with Tylinn Carter putting up 21 points and nine rebounds for the Slammers.
The Mandurah Magic bounced back well from their first loss of the season last week to beat the Kalamunda Eastern Suns 77-54 on their home floor.
Alex Wittinger delivered 23 points and 10 rebounds for Mandurah and Carly Boat 21 points and 10 boards while Georgia Denehey scored 16 points for the Eastern Suns.
The Cockburn Cougars made quite a statement in a rematch of last year's semi finals with a thumping 118-51 victory against the Perth Redbacks at Belmont Oasis on Saturday night.
Kat Tudor hit seven threes on the way to 29 points for the Cougars in the big win with Shenae Hartree scoring 16 points for the Makailah Dyer, Jess Jakens-less Redbacks.
The Warwick Senators the overcame a slow start to defeat the Goldfields Giants 96-77 in Kalgoorlie to close out the Round 6 NBL1 West Women's action.

JOONDALUP WOLVES 106 defeated SOUTH WEST SLAMMERS 51
The undefeated Joondalup Wolves proved too strong for the winless South West Slammers at HBF Arena on Saturday night.
The Wolfpack came into the game having won their opening five matches of the 2022 NBL1 West season while the Slammers had lost their first six games.
They are now onto their third coach already this season too with Robyn Vogel taking over for the rest of the season having replaced caretaker Julieann Bissaker who had been in charge since the departure of Peter Nalder.
Taking her new team into action in Joondalup against the undefeated Wolfpack was always going to be a significant task, though, and that was obvious from the outset with the Wolves racing to a 15-2 lead over the opening six minutes.
Joondalup ended up leading 25-8 by quarter-time and then stretched their advantage to 32 points by half-time, 48 by three quarter-time and then went on to win the game 106-51 to improve to 6-0 after six rounds while the Slammers are 0-7.
The Wolves ended the night collecting 63 rebounds to 30 including 22 offensive boards to seven while they shot 49.5 per cent from the floor and went 9/31 from beyond the arc while the Slammers went 30.2 per cent from the field and 3/22 from three-point land.
Teige Morrell put in another commanding performance with the Slammers made up of 22 points, 11 rebounds and four assists on 8/11 shooting and a perfect 6/6 at the free-throw line.
Robbi Ryan was impressive once more for Joondalup with 20 points on 9/13 shooting with Nes'eya Williams adding 12 points, nine rebounds and six assists, Chelsea Belcher 11 points and three boards, and Shani Caldwell nine points, four rebounds and four assists.
Tylinn Carter battled hard for the Slammers to finish with 21 points and nine rebounds with Alex Ciabattoni adding 12 points and three assists. Bree Chalk also had eight points for South West.
MANDURAH MAGIC 77 defeated KALAMUNDA EASTERN SUNS 54
The Mandurah Magic bounced back strongly from their first loss of the 2022 season to beat the Kalamunda Eastern Suns by 23 points on Saturday night.
The Magic opened the NBL1 West Women's season winning their opening four matches before a hiccup last Saturday night against the Cockburn Cougars.
They were back to Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre on Saturday night this week and bounced back impressively against the Eastern Suns.
Mandurah got off to a strong start against Kalamunda too with 26 points to 13 in the opening quarter. They kept it going from there with the Magic holding a commanding 48-23 advantage by half-time.
That proved a match-winning edge with the Magic going on to record the 77-54 victory to improve to 5-1 on the season after six rounds while the Eastern Suns are 1-7.
Alex Wittinger put in a tremendous performance in the win for Mandurah with 23 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 11/17 from the field.
Carly Boag also delivered 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners with Sarah Toeaina adding 10 points, five boards and four assists. Hannah Little also had seven points and 12 rebounds, Aimee Brett six points and five assists, and Grace Lawler six points.
Georgia Denehey top-scored for the Eastern Suns with 16 points and four steals even though she shot just 5/18 from the field and 0/8 from beyond the three-point line.
Marissa Pangalos also had 15 points and three rebounds for Kalamunda while Lexie Bland contributed 12 points and four boards, and Eleanor Hartill three points, nine rebounds and four steals.
PERTH REDBACKS 51 lost to COCKBURN COUGARS 118
The Cockburn Cougars continued their standout start to the 2022 season taking full advantage of a decimated Perth Redbacks to win 67 points at Belmont Oasis on Saturday night.
The Cougars came into the contest having won four of their opening five matches of the season including being fresh off becoming the first team to beat the Mandurah Magic last Saturday night at Wally Hagan Stadium.
The Redbacks came into the game having won just two of their first six games but they were without Makailah Dyer, Jess Jakens, Rebecca Motroni and Kayonna Lee, and they were no match for the firing Cougars.
The Cougars scored 13 of the game's first 15 points and were never headed from there going on to lead 35-13 by the end of the opening quarter.
It was another 30 points to 14 in the second period from Cockburn to see them lead Perth 65-27 by the half-time break.
It was more of the same in the third quarter with another 33 points to 11 before the Cougars cruised to the 118-51 to improve to a 5-1 record on the season while the Redbacks are now 2-5.
Kat Tudor might have only played 19 minutes for the Cougars but put in a superstar level performance hitting 7/12 from beyond the three-point line for 29 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Jessie Edwards delivered another 20 points and 11 rebounds for Cockburn, Ella Summers 18 points and seven boards, Alina Hartmann 10 points, eight assists, six rebounds and three steals, and Tia Morgan nine points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
It was a tough night for the Redbacks with so many players missing but Shenae Hartree managed 16 points and seven rebounds with Mikayla Pirini adding 10 points, four rebounds and two assists.
