The NBL1 North Finals MVP was on fire across Round 2, Nathan Sobey averaged 27.5 points against the Breakers and the Taipans in a win and loss respectively.

After winning his second NBL1 South Defensive Player of the Year Award, Sam McDaniel has roared into NBL24 as one of the standouts for the Brisbane Bullets. 

Moving into the starting lineup against the Taipans, McDaniel scored 11 points with eight rebounds and two steals. 

The 2022 NBL1 South champion improved his points per game average by seven points in the past season, averaging 22.3 points, 4.1 assists and 8.8 rebounds for the Hobart Chargers. 


Syd

The NBL1 East All-Star Five member Alex Toohey had his best NBL game so far in Round 2 against the JackJumpers. 

Scoring 14 points and pulling down nine rebounds, the NBL Next Star had an impressive showing in front of the Tasmanian crowd.

In the 2023 NBL1 season, Toohey averaged 18 points per game, 5.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists for the 20-2 Centre of Excellence. 


Additionally, NBL1 Central star Jasper Rentoy made his NBL debut in front of friends and family at Qudos Bank Arena on Sunday. He scored two points in under two minutes to start his NBL journey.
