The Albury-Wodonga Bandits have announced the signing of Amelia Hassett for the 2021 NBL1 South season.
Hassett is a product of the Cootamundra Cougars and a current NSW country representative who has also recently been selected to compete in the upcoming 2021 U18 national championships.
Bandits head coach Matt Papps said he was delighted to have a player of Hassett's quality join the team.
“I’m very excited to welcome Amelia to the bandits this year," he said.
"She has a great skill set for her age and will be looking for her to make an immediate impact in this NBL1 season.
"She has a fantastic attitude and has already improved dramatically over the past couple of months.
Albury-Wodonga President Luke Smith commented on how proud he was about the pathways the team could offer to the up-and-coming talent.
“Being able to attract the talents like Amelia shows the importance the Bandits are to our regional community as we are currently the only club in the NBL1 to represent regional NSW," he said.
"It’s an important pathway that we are proud to offer for elite-level junior athletes to gain national exposure.”
