Opals legend set to lead Hornsby in 2023

The Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Spiders, one of the four brand new NBL1 East teams, have announced Olympic silver medallist Alicia Poto as their head coach for the women's team in NBL1 2023. 

Playing alongside now NBL1 East MVP and Champion Lauren Jackson in the 2004 Athens Olympics, Poto carved out a fantastic career finishing as two-time WNBL Defensive Player of the Year with the then Sydney Uni Flames. 

Hornsby also announced last week their men's head coach will be Mahesh Padmanabhan, after leading the Youth League team last season.
