RedCity secures NZ Tall Fern

The RedCity Roar have announced the signing of New Zealand Tall Fern Ashleigh Kelman-Poto for the inaugural NBL1 North season.

Kelman-Poto was the MVP of the NZNBL Grand Final with the championship winning Harbour Breeze. She recorded 18 points and 14 rebounds in the league decider.

At 6’1” Kelman-Poto can play at both power forward and centre positions. She averaged 13.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists and shot the three at a 38 percent clip when playing for Gladstone in the QBL and has played her way into the Tall Ferns squad since then.

Kelman-Poto joins Jaylen Cooper on the Roar’s women’s roster for the forthcoming season, which begins on Saturday May 15 against the Logan Thunder.
