Sobey Explodes For 50 In QSL

Ipswich Force superstar Nathan Sobey put on a masterclass in the QSL this weekend, scoring 50 points in a win over the Northside Wizards.

Ipswich Force superstar Nathan Sobey put on a masterclass in the QSL this weekend, scoring 50 points in a win over the Northside Wizards.
The Australian Boomer hit 11 three-pointers, while connecting on 64 percent of his field goals, on his way to the half century. Sobey also added six rebounds, five assists and four steals in the 118-85 victory.
"Last night he was just unbelievable,'' Ipswich coach Chris Riches said of Sobey, via the Queensland Times.
"He's always very, very focused on what he wants to achieve in the games. He's really enjoying it and we're super happy to have him involved in the program.
"He's a class player and a class person so from that point of view, it's been really great for us.
"I think it's worked out well for him that he's been able to keep in form and work his way back into fitness while waiting for the NBL season to come on board.''

MEN
Jesse Ghee – Ipswich Force
Ghee provided strong support to Sobey in the Force’s win with 19 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds and five steals.
Jonathan Janssen – Sunshine Coast Phoenix
Janssen had a huge double-double on Saturday night with 25 points and 16 rebounds. He also dished out eight assists.
Jamaal Robateau – Sunshine Coast Phoenix
Robateau amassed 24 points in Sunshine Coast’s loss to the Brisbane Capitals on Saturday night, while he had 15 points in Friday night’s win over Northside.
Jason Cadee – Brisbane Capitals
The Brisbane Bullet led the way for the Capitals on Saturday night with 34 points, seven assists and six rebounds.
Jarred Bairstow – Brisbane Capitals
Bairstow was another Capital who had an impressive performance on the weekend with 28 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.
Isaih Tueta – USC Rip City
USC suffered a tough loss on the weekend but Tueta had a solid individual effort with 19 points.
Callum Dalton – Southern Districts Spartans
Dalton’s recent hot run of form continued this weekend as he tallied 22 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Rip City.
Tyrell Harrison – Southern Districts Spartans
Harrison had his highest scoring output since round three with 17 points on Saturday night.
Atem Bior – Logan Thunder
Bior’s double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds helped charge the Thunder to a 105-75 win over the Gold Coast Rollers.
Chris Cedar – Logan Thunder
Logan also received a strong contribution from Cedar, as he collected 18 points in the victory.
Mitch Young – Logan Thunder
The Thunder’s on and off court leader scored 17 points in their victory over the Rollers.
Jalen Patton-Croker – Gold Coast Rollers
Patton-Croker has been one of the league’s best players this season and he showcased that again on Saturday night with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Jaze Morris – Gold Coast Rollers
Morris’ recent hot run on the offensive end continued this weekend as he scored 17 points.
Verle Williams Jnr – RedCity Roar
Williams had signed to play for the Spartans in NBL1 North but has joined RedCity for the QSL. He had 23 points and five assists on Saturday night.
WOMEN
Amy Browne – Sunshine Coast Phoenix
Browne was unstoppable in the Phoenix’s 73-59 win over the Wizards with 24 points and 16 rebounds.
Caitlin Clancy – Sunshine Coast Phoenix
Clancy was Sunshine Coast’s best with 22 points in their loss to Brisbane on Saturday night.
Emma Read – Brisbane Capitals
The Capitals recorded a comfortable 21-point win over the Phoenix and Read led the way for the victors with 16 points.
Maddison Rocci – USC Rip City
The Canberra Capitals star doubled-up with 24 points and 11 rebounds for USC this weekend.
Kalani Purcell – Southern Districts Spartans
Purcell recorded a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds in the Spartans’ win over Rip City.
Madelyn Willey – Southern Districts Spartans
Willey continues to be a top offensive option for Southern Districts as she scored 17 points this weekend.
Mikaela Ruef – Logan Thunder
It was another huge performance from Ruef this weekend as she amassed 22 points and 17 rebounds.
Mikhaela Cann – Logan Thunder
Cann fell just short of a triple-double on Saturday night as she finished with 19 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds.
Amy Lewis – Ipswich Force
Someone who did record a triple-double this round was Lewis, who had 25 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds.
Iris Cubit – Ipswich Force
Cubit has had an impressive campaign for Ipswich and that continued this weekend with 20 points.
Catherine MacGregor – Ipswich Force
MacGregor keeps making the most of her chances in the QSL, as she had 13 points and 12 rebounds on Saturday night.
