South Sudan national Kuany joins the Sabres

The Sandringham Sabres have announced the signing of South Sudan national Kuany Ngor Kuany for the 2021 NBL1 South season. 

Kuany recently helped South Sudan qualify for the 2021 FIBA AfroBasket Tournament, averaging 10 points and three rebounds from his six appearances. 

Before this, Kuany had stints with the Cairns Taipans and Sydney Kings in the NBL, making him well-equipped to take on some of the NBL stars featuring in the upcoming NBL1 season. 

In his college years, he was a star for the NCAA Division 2 school Chaminade, averaging 16.3 points from 20 games in the 2015-16 season. 

This season will be Kuany’s first outing as a Sabre, after coming across from the Ballarat Miners.
