Thunder sign Taia for NBL1 North

The Logan Thunder have announced Ashley Taia has re-signed with the club for the 2021 NBL1 North season.

A Logan junior, Taia played for the Canberra Capitals in the 2020 WNBL season and has previously played for the Adelaide Lightning and Indiana State University in the NCAA.

She returns for her third straight season with the Thunder and will join Mikhaela Cann in the backcourt.

“It feels amazing to be here 20 years later still playing for Logan,” Taia said.

“This was the dream when I first started Thunderball; to come back and play for our club and our fans is unreal.

“Last year’s success was definitely a continuation of our programs efforts the year before. I believe we have gotten better every year, which means this year will be our best season yet.

“Our young guns get better every session and our core group of oldies have undeniable experience and leadership that will take us all the way once again.

“The best thing about the Thunder Family is the culture that everyone buys into. We really are a family and you can feel the support and community every time you walk into the building.

“Even at away games you can always see, hear and feel the Thunder Family presence.”

Logan’s NBL1 North season begins on Saturday May 15 against the RedCity Roar.
