Tigers unveil star-studded 2021 NBL1 South coaching staff

The Melbourne Tigers have revealed their 2021 NBL1 South head coaches, with Brad Pineau returning to the men’s team and David Herbert taking over the women’s team.

Pineau returns to the head coaching role after leading the Tigers to the finals in the 2019 NBL1 season.

On the women’s side, Herbert joins Melbourne after coaching the Geelong Supercats in the 2019 NBL1 season. Herbert led the Supercats to the Championship Game in 2019 and he is also the head coach of the Australian U19 women’s national team. 

“In a post-COVID environment, running a successful program becomes even more challenging,” Tigers GM Chris Brooking said via tigersbasketball.com.au.

“It is therefore very satisfying to be able to appoint such a group of quality coaches. We are excited to have their expertise and experience and look forward to building on the successes of 2019 and take the next step.”
