Townsville’s NBL1 North roster grows

Townsville has announced further signings for the 2021 NBL1 North season, with Matthew Rees committing to the Heat and Lauren Andrews joining the Flames.

Rees is a staple of the Townsville basketball community, having played for the Heat since 2006. In the 2019 QBL season, he averaged 9.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

On the other hand, Andrews is just getting her career started. The talented junior was recently named to Queensland’s under 20 team and will be looking to make an impact at NBL1 level in 2021.

The Heat have signed Rees, Joshua Spiers, Richard Peachey and Luca Yates for the upcoming season while the Flames have announced Andrews, Steph Reid, Aliza Fabbro and Chailee Ward.
